Benefit of Silk

Benefits of Silk

Silk is the strongest of natural fibres. it contains natural protein and 18 essential amino acids. It also contains natural cellular albumen which speeds up the metabolism of skin cells. As it is a breathable fabric and a natural temperature regulator, silk helps the body retain heat in cold weather while excess heat is expelled in warm weather, helping your body maintain a comfortable, natural temperature. Silk is hypoallergenic; it does not attract dust mites and is a natural fungal repellant. As it does not conduct static electricity, sleeping on silk helps reduce hair breakage. Unlike cotton, silk does not draw moisture away from your skin and hair, but encourages a proper moisture balance, while it's extremely smooth and soft texture proves to be beneficial for those with sensitive skin conditions (e.g. Eczema).

Silk and your Skin

Silk can make an amazing difference to the appearance of your skin. The natural material has the ability to make wrinkles appear smoother and won’t leave behind any unsightly creases or marks. Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and won’t irritate sensitive skin conditions. Our luxurious, high quality mulberry silk won’t draw moisture away from your skin, and its gorgeously smooth, soft texture will soothe any irritation. When you massage in your luxury face cream or nourishing serum before bed, you want to know that it’s going to be absorbed into your skin and not the pillow. Silk pillowcases are fabulous for this; they don’t absorb skincare products in the way that some other fabrics do, so every last drop goes exactly where you want it to go. Your products work for you throughout the night and make sure that you wake up looking rested and radiant

Silk Pillowcases and your Hair

Especially fabulous if you have curly hair, sleeping on silk pillowcases is a lovely way to give your hair some extra care. The natural proteins in the 100% mulberry silk will help to stop your hair from drying out overnight. This prevents bed hair and morning frizz, makes your morning haircare routine more pleasant and can give you the gift of a good hair day, every day.

Sleeping with a Silk Eye Mask

Once you’ve tried a night in a silk eye mask, you’ll never look back. They are crafted from delicate mulberry silk, a breathable fabric which also helps to naturally regulate your temperature; fantastic if you suffer with night sweats or tend to overheat in bed. As an extra bonus, on colder nights the silk helps your body stay cosy and retain heat. Silk sleep masks are also kind to the delicate skin around your eyes. Because the fabric is so touchably soft, it causes less friction between your skin and the fabric than a standard cotton eye mask. This can help prevent fine lines from developing around your eyes, which has to be a good thing. It’s especially helpful if you sleep on your front with your face right into the pillow.

Easy Care

Silk bedding can be machine washed on a 30°C heat, making it eco-friendly. Wash on a gentle or hand-washable cycle, using a mild, non-biological soap or specialist silk detergent.
