Pre appointment advice

Avoid use of strong exfoliating products including ahas, bhas and forms retinoids/ retinols as this could result in skin scabbing for at least 5 days before and after.
Inform therapist of changes in medications, medical conditions such as diabetes, cancer, hormone treatments as this can sensitize the skin, skincare including active ingredients, cosmetic procedures, acne medication, blood thinning medication, topical cortisol creams, antibiotics or anything else that might be relevant.
Avoid direct sun exposure and use of sunbeds at least 48 hours prior to appointment
Gently exfoliate and moisturise the area 48 -24 hours before to help loosen any ingrown hairs
Ensure skin is clean, dry and avoid using any products other than a gentle cleanser on the area on the day of your wax

Ideal Hair Length

At least 1/4-inch long 1/2-inch long at the most (roughly the size of a grain of rice or an eyelash)
NB. If you hair is longer than this you can either trim or we can do this where necessary

Handy Tips

You are more sensitive when you are due or on your period so if possible you may want to time waxing avoiding this time of the month
Caffeine and alcohol increase blood flow and make you more prone to sensitivity and bruising so if possible avoid/ reduce consumption 24 hours before
If you usually shave stop roughly 2 weeks before your wax appointment

Aftercare Advice

Wear loose fitting clothes made of natural fibers to help avoid irritation and ingrown hairs
Avoid excessive heat and sweating for 24 hours to help the healing process and avoid irritation
Avoid applying cosmetics such as fragranced, perfumed, tanning or gentle exfoliating products to area for 24/48 hours
Avoid hot baths, swimming etc for 24 hours after
Rebook for maintenance roughly between 4-6 weeks depending on area
